The tourism zone of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) has opened at Guilin International Convention and Exhibition Center, drawing exhibitors and professional buyers from over 40 countries and regions to witness the strong recovery of the global tourism market.

Spanning 60,000 square meters and featuring 1,720 booths, the zone is home to 1,350 companies. These booths display innovative tourism formats, products, and consumption methods, with the goal of enhancing practical cooperation and sharing growth opportunities – propelling high-quality global tourism development through the integration of new technology, products and opportunities.

Technology is a key highlight here. Robot dogs patrol the area, robots make coffee, digital humans serve as guides, and AI newspaper photo booths draw long lines. A visitor surnamed Chen praised the booth's "Today's Headlines" prints with personal photos, while many young visitors take photos with the prints, robot dogs and robots.

Beyond such interactions, VR/MR technology offers immersive experiences. Chen Shao, general manager of Guilin Jiangshan Conference & Exhibition, presented four VR/MR scenarios like Longmen Bridge sunset.

Visitors often feel as if they are in actual scenic locations, with some mentioning that the hot-air balloon simulation makes them reluctant to move. Chen also noted that the system helps manufacturers show factories to international buyers, with upcoming enhancements for real-time audio-visual synchronization.

Industry insiders, a representative from a Spanish tourism technology company, said that AI facilitates the creation of high-quality content, precise multilingual translation and personalized services – innovations that are set to transform the tourism industry.
