An event titled "Experience China – A Symphony of Stories on China-US People-to-People Friendship" was held at the Chinese Embassy in Washington, United States, with another session set for Aug 29 at the Chinese Consulate in New York.

As part of a series of events marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the event blended symphony with storytelling to recall China-US joint efforts against fascism, building an emotional bridge for people-to-people ties.

Co-hosted by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, Chinese diplomatic missions in the US and others, the event saw attendance from Chinese Ambassador to the US Xie Feng, US representatives and others.

Guests first visited an exhibition showcasing over 300 historical materials and videos related to key WWII events.

With music by the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, the event told five friendship stories. A storyteller from Guilin shared tales of China-US military cooperation during the war.

In his speech, Xie stressed the importance of people-to-people exchanges as the foundation of China-US relations, calling for more friendly cooperation.
