Tang Yixin: TCM pioneer with decades of Sichuan-Guangxi ties

Tang Yixin is a nationally renowned veteran Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) expert and chief physician at Leshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan province.

His accolades include State Council Special Allowance (1999) and National Advanced Worker (2015), honored jointly by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. He has forged a deep decade-long connection with Guilin, where his medical philosophy and practices have left a lasting impact on local TCM development.

His pioneering work includes founding the TCM Spleen Yin syndrome clinical system and authoring Research on TCM Spleen Yin Theory, advancing global understanding of visceral Yin theory. His core belief — "Efficacy is the fundamental standard of medicine" — became iconic in Guilin, symbolizing his decade-long bond with the city.

In Guilin, he has mentored over 30 disciples, including ethnic practitioners, and promoted integration of local therapies. He guided Gongcheng Yao autonomous county in developing 13 TCM-ethnic health products, six nationally registered, boosting ethnic wellness initiatives.

As a prolific scholar, he has published 114 academic works (24 monographs, 90 papers) and serves as doctoral supervisor at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Regularly consulting in Guilin, he attracts patients from around the world, embodying his commitment to merging TCM heritage with ethnic medical wisdom for public health.
