Hosted by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, the sixth CSIAM International Conference on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence kicked off in Guilin, co-organized by relevant academic committees and local universities.
Nearly 1,000 experts and scholars gathered to delve into current research trends in big data and AI. Conference chair Xu Zongben stated in his speech that the event is meant to be a "scientific conference", focusing on core issues, emphasizing interdisciplinary integration, and promoting theoretical development and innovative practices in the field.
Local university leaders introduced their institutions' computer disciplines, while Guilin's vice mayor noted that the city uses big data and AI to drive industrial upgrading and attract more international tourists, supporting cutting-edge research and tech conversion.
A representative of the National Natural Science Foundation of China highlighted mathematics' role in advancing AI, mentioning funding support and encouraging young researchers.
The event, featuring six keynote speeches by top experts, will boost Guangxi's AI innovation and Guilin's "AI plus tourism" strategy.
