From India's Ganges to Yangshuo's West Street, Aki gave up the familiarity of his hometown eight years ago for the allure of Yangshuo, where karst peaks rise like sculpted giants above the Lijiang River's glassy surface.
What began as simple admiration for the stunning landscapes soon grew into a steadfast mission. He set out to turn spices into stories, blending his homeland's flavors with Guilin's iconic scenery.
What first drew him was Yangshuo's magical scenery: the Lijiang River curling like a silk ribbon between karst peaks, a living ink painting where air smells of fresh earth and warmth lingers in the smiles of locals. It felt like home, yet full of new possibilities. That's why he decided to open a restaurant called "Ganges Impression".

Here, his curry chicken simmers with history, each spice a nod to his roots; flaky naan crackles like the laughter of travelers swapping tales over masala chai. By day, visitors kayak on the Lijiang River or hike karst trails; by dusk, they fill his tables, their hunger easing into joy as flavors bridge languages.
The restaurant reflects Yangshuo's gift: turning strangers into a community, where Indian spices meet Chinese warmth, and every meal is a celebration of shared dreams. In Aki's kitchen, as in Guilin's hills and rivers, borders fade. What remains is the universal truth that good food, and goodwill, speak the same language.
