Held under the theme "On the Road", this year's award attracted 430 submissions from global Chinese-language creators. Chaired by renowned author Yu Hua, the jury featured prominent writers, critics, and publishers including Dong Xi and Gao Xing, who also presented awards on-site. The committee selected four grand prize winners and four nominees, highlighting a key innovation in this edition: the inclusion of unpublished works to encourage new literary voices.

Established in 2023, the Lijiang Literature Award is a biennial international prize recognizing excellence in Chinese-language fiction, nonfiction, and literary translation. It aims to spotlight original long-form writing and emerging talent in literature.

Complementing the award ceremony, the ongoing Lijiang Literature Festival has launched initiatives across 17 cities, including Lijiang Literary Corners in 36 bookstores. In Guilin, a co-creation exhibition and literary market are hosted at the city's art museum, while Yangshuo is staging salons exploring the future of literary publishing. The festival fosters collaboration across literature and the arts, underscoring the award's broader cultural mission.
