The 2025 Guangxi·Guilin (Lingui) ASEAN Cities Dragon Boat Invitational is set to take place from May 31 to June 1 in Guilin's Lingui district. Organizers made the announcement and confirmed that preparations are nearly complete at a press conference on May 23.

The event will gather nearly 20 dragon boat teams from China and ASEAN countries for a 500-meter straight-course race using 22-paddler international-standard dragon boats. Heats will take place on the first day, followed by the finals on the second.

To enrich the festival atmosphere, Lingui district has planned a variety of water-based activities, including motorized surfboards, water jet performances, and cultural showcases. A unique floating market will be set up near the viewing area, where 11 colorful boats will offer local specialties of Guilin and Lingui. Visitors can shop directly by scanning QR codes, enjoying a lively fusion of traditional Dragon Boat Festival culture and modern commerce.

Beyond the competition, spectators and athletes are invited to explore Lingui's scenic attractions free of charge, including the Flying Tigers Heritage Park, Li Zongren's Former Residence, and more. Evening entertainment options include bustling commercial zones such as Wuyue Plaza, Wanda Plaza, Huashengtang Plaza, and popular food streets like Fengheli Cultural Town and Xianhu Road Food Street.

The event will be broadcast live via Douyin and WeChat video channels, with real-time updates available through the WeChat official account of Lingui district. Visitors are encouraged to travel green and enjoy the full lakeside viewing trail.

The event is set to enhance Guilin's sports and tourism profile and marks another step in building a world-class destination by integrating sports, culture, and tourism.
