Guilin village becomes viral scenic spot after seasonal rainfall

Following days of continuous rain, Tangbei village in Sitang town, Lingui district of Guilin, has unexpectedly become a viral sensation. Thanks to its unique terrain and lush surroundings, the rising water along the village loop road created a mesmerizing scene, turning the path into what looks like a sparkling lake.

The water's surface mirrors the sapphire-blue sky, blending land and air into a dreamlike panorama. Walking along the road feels like strolling through the sky, as reflections ripple underfoot and clouds drift above, giving an ethereal experience now captivating travelers nationwide.

Photos and videos capturing this surreal beauty have spread quickly online, attracting waves of visitors. Tourists now flock to Tangbei, snapping photos, admiring the scenery, and sharing the village’s newfound fame.

Beyond its stunning visuals, Tangbei boasts a rich cultural heritage. Established for centuries, the village features ancestral halls, ancient wells, and centuries-old trees. A highlight is the 800-year-old camphor tree and the rare 470-year-old tree, known for budding only in summer.

Tangbei is also home to the famed Tangbei Lantern performance, a folk tradition with over 700 years of history and now recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi.

With its blend of natural wonder and historical depth, Tangbei village is quickly becoming one of Guilin’s most enchanting destinations.
