From May 9 to 11, Gongcheng oil tea made a strong impression at the 2025 Moganshan World Brand Conference in Deqing county, Zhejiang province. Presented at the Brand Agriculture and Traceable China Showcase, it was selected as a model case of China's geographical indication brands, highlighting its cultural significance and unique flavor.

At the exhibition, the Gongcheng booth immersed visitors in traditional Yao ethnic culture. Handcrafted tea bowls, locally sourced ingredients, and attractively packaged gift boxes were on display. A cultural heritage inheritor demonstrated the tea-making process live, pounding and brewing the mixture of tea leaves, ginger, and garlic. As the golden tea poured into bowls, topped with puffed rice and peanuts, its rich aroma drew crowds eager to taste this time-honored drink.

With roots stretching back over a thousand years, Gongcheng oil tea is central to the daily lives and ceremonial traditions of the Yao ethnic people. Recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2021 and listed by UNESCO in 2022, it is now positioned as both a cultural icon and a premium product.

In recent years, Gongcheng county has expanded the tea industry chain, with over 24,000 hectares dedicated to raw material cultivation and over 200 processing workshops. An innovation-driven industrial park is under construction, combining production, research, e-commerce, tourism, and live-streaming. Gongcheng oil tea is not only preserving tradition, but it's also becoming a symbol of rural vitalization and international cultural exchange.
