Nestled in Guangxi's karst wonderland, Guilin welcomed over 6.12 million visitors from home and abroad during this year's May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, marking a 26.9 percent year-on-year increase.

Travelers from across the globe immersed themselves in its unique rhythm, from sunrise cruises on the Lijiang River to moonlit strolls along the Yulong River.

After 10 years, Dutch traveler Alex returned to Yangshuo, showing his wife the iconic peaks along the Lijiang River. He observed that it wasn't only the stunning views but also the relaxed pace of biking through rice fields and sampling local beers that enchanted them.

Antonio Anuk, a former actor from Italy, traded the stage for the cliffs of Yangshuo six years ago. Captivated by the region's breathtaking karst landscapes and vibrant international community, he now calls the Chinese county home.

From dawn mist over tea fields to starlit riverside conversations, Guilin's magic lies in its ability to harmonize natural grandeur with human warmth. With every limestone peak echoing ancient ballads and every cultural exchange writing new stories, the city emerges not only as a scenic wonder but also as a living testament to cultural confidence in China's modernization.
