Guilin officials propose pathways for high-quality growth

The fifth session of the sixth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Guilin Municipal Committee, along with the sixth session of the sixth Guilin Municipal People's Congress, focused on advancing Guangxi's economic development strategies. Officials of Guilin, Guangxi, shared valuable insights on key initiatives, including investment promotion, cultural tourism integration, rural vitalization, and industrial transformation.

Among the highlights, Hu Zhiqiang, chairman of Huaqiao Rongji Company, has invested 300 million yuan ($41 million) for industrial park construction, to preserving and promoting authentic Guilin rice noodles. The project incorporates AI-driven supply chain management and global marketing campaigns to expand the brand's international reach.

Lin Boming, vice president of Guilin Tourism University, emphasized the institution's role in fostering ASEAN tourism talent, having trained over 3,500 professionals and established cross-border educational partnerships.

Li Feng, deputy general manager of Guilin Fuda Company, plans to enhance production capacity for new energy vehicle components while integrating AI across operations. The company aims to achieve an annual output of 8 million crankshaft units by 2026, positioning itself as a leader in smart manufacturing.

Deng Shiwen, secretary of Quanzhou county, is aiming for a 5 percent increase in GDP by implementing smart agriculture practices and boosting tourism with the help of AI technologies.

Zhang Wentao, deputy party secretary and president of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, intends to set up 10 AI innovation centers, building on its success in improving agricultural yields and tourism management through data-driven solutions.

Xie Yuangang, vice president of Sanjin Pharmaceutical, is dedicated to modernizing traditional Chinese medicine and expanding into global markets, with 17 products now available internationally.

These collective efforts underscore Guilin's commitment to sustainable development, blending innovation with cultural preservation to build a prosperous future.
