Sun Guoliang, secretary of Yangshuo county, hosted a meeting with international students from the College of International Culture and Education at Guangxi Normal University. The event brought together students from 13 countries, including Vietnam, Spain, and France, alongside local officials, fostering a vibrant exchange of cultures and ideas.
The meeting aimed to bridge diverse perspectives and invite international youth to participate in local governance. This innovative open governance model, characterized by observation, suggestion, practice, and dissemination, seeks to enhance Yangshuo's global reputation as a premier national tourism brand in Guilin.
During the meeting, participants viewed promotional videos showcasing Yangshuo's tourism highlights. Discussions spanned various topics, including social services, international youth exchange, educational internationalization, ecological protection, and cultural heritage preservation. International students shared their experiences in Yangshuo, recounting activities such as tree planting, bamboo rafting, and visits to local landmarks. They praised the county's natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, safety, cleanliness, and warm hospitality, strongly wanting to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and promote Yangshuo globally.
Looking ahead, Yangshuo county plans to attract global talent by establishing clear recruitment standards and streamlined processes. The county will leverage international social media platforms and university partnerships to recruit talent and develop a comprehensive training system. It will cover cultural exchange, urban-rural integration, and other key areas, empowering participants to contribute meaningfully to Yangshuo's development with an international perspective.
