The 2025 Yangshuo Chinese and Foreign Joint Lantern Festival Carnival kicked off on Feb 12 in Yangshuo county, Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, gathering expats from 31 countries, including Russia, Italy, Mexico, and Denmark, to celebrate the Lantern Festival and enjoy folk culture.

The 2025 carnival featured eight highlights, including an intangible cultural heritage grass dragon parade, mountain song competition, lantern riddle challenge and evening gala.

These activities not only showcased the unique cultural charm of Yangshuo but also promoted the preservation and development of intangible cultural heritage, thus boosting local tourism.

As night fell, the evening gala brought the carnival to a climax. The gala featured performances by domestic and international artists, including mountain songs by Liu Sanjie culture inheritors and a rendition of Descendants of the Dragon. The acrobatic acts also surprised the audience, while international cultural ambassadors received certificates and commemorative gifts during the evening gala.

The carnival drew nearly 50,000 participants, including local officials, university representatives, and media, fostering cultural exchange and holiday joy.
