In the city of Guilin, famous for its breathtaking karst landscapes, vibrant Spring Festival festivities are set to kick off to welcome the new year. The celebrations are expected to begin on Jan 29, the first day of the Chinese New Year.
Of note, a grand fireworks display is set to launch that day. The display aims to welcome the Spring Festival and showcase the splendor of Guilin's landscape.
The fireworks will be discharged from one side of Zizhou Park, situated alongside the Lijiang River, and will be oriented toward the Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area. The 20-minute show is divided into four themed sections and features 68 scenes. The fireworks will create a stunning visual spectacle against the backdrop of the winding Lijiang River and the serene Elephant Trunk Hill.
In addition, a traditional intangible cultural heritage market will open on the evening of Jan 29 in front of the Ancient South Gate. Adorned with various colorful lanterns, the area exudes an intense traditional Spring Festival atmosphere, showcasing the essence of Guilin's traditional culture and offering exquisite intangible cultural creations and traditional festive goods.
