Guilin Daily reported on Jan 21 that the Guilin Botanical Garden's Sports Park, featuring two sports areas, has finished construction. Currently, one of the sports areas is fully operational, while the other is undergoing final tests.
The sports area I includes a multi-purpose court, four tennis courts, four badminton courts, a table tennis court, two basketball courts, a gate ball court, and four five-a-side football fields. It also features rain gardens to manage stormwater.
Residents can enjoy activities like dancing and fitness exercises in sports area II. Resident Li Xiangqin praised the new park for its smooth surface, which provides a better recreational experience.
The Guilin Botanical Garden covers 47.9 hectares, combining research, education, and leisure. The sports park project, initiated in August 2024, aims to integrate sports with green spaces, promoting eco-friendly and healthy lifestyles.
The project is a significant public welfare initiative. It will enhance the park's functionality and offer diverse recreational opportunities for all age groups.
