The 2024 Guilin Marathon came to a conclusion on March 17.
This event attracted 61,790 applicants, an increase of nearly 20,000 people over 2023, reaching a record high. It became the largest-scale and highest-level marathon among the series of China's latest Super Marathon Weekend races.

It gained popularity by holding a marathon expo, setting up supply and service points, and providing discounts and free tickets to local scenic spots for racers. Besides, it assisted in promoting local industries involving agriculture, culture, tourism, and business, which contributed to a joint boost.
The event's economic impact was significant, generating a substantial amount of direct income for various local sectors: 54.33 million yuan ($7.5 million) for the accommodation industry, 70.34 million yuan for the catering business, 26.72 million yuan for the consumer market, 18.92 million yuan for the transportation, and 12.39 million yuan for tourism. The cumulative direct economic income for Guilin city totaled 183 million yuan, and the related industries totaled 296 million yuan, bringing comprehensive economic benefits of 479 million yuan for Guilin.
