An e-commerce promotion activity for Xing'an grapes was held in Wujiache village of Rongjiang town in Guilin on Aug 8, as part of the 2023 Guilin Lijiang River Shopping Festival.
The event was aimed to expand grape sales through agricultural e-commerce live streaming sales, hotline sales, and order deliveries.
Xing'an county has been cultivating grapes since 1985. After more than three decades of exploration, it has gradually developed a scientific planting layout with more than 30 varieties such as Kyoho, Xiahei, Jingya and Sunshine Rose.
The local grape industry has evolved from a single plantation industry to a modern agriculture sector that integrates cultivation, leisure, and tourism.
Currently, Xing'an county is the largest grape production area in South China, with a grape cultivation area of 145,000 mu (23,887 acres) and an average grape output of 370,000 metric tons. This yield has an annual output value that exceeds 3.9 billion yuan ($541.2 million).
In recent years, the county has turned its grape industry into a leading sector for rural vitalization. It has made full use of e-commerce platforms to promote agricultural and sideline products, which has increased the income of farmers, and vitalized rural areas. This also improves the core competitiveness and market influence of Xing'an grapes.
During the opening ceremony, various activities took place, including the selection of the "Best Grapes" of Xing'an, and the signing of several production and sales cooperation agreements.
