The Guilin Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Museum is located at Xishan Mountain with beautiful scenery and rich cultural relics. It is one of 100 intangible cultural heritage venues listed in China's 12th Five-Year Plan, and the first experience museum in Guangxi. The museum puts the people and rites first and has established the theme of “Guilin Courtesy”, providing three different experiencing spaces, namely, tasting life, enriching spirit, and appreciating natural beauty, which integrate Guilin's rites in tradition, folklore, artisan, and life with rites in nature. The immersive opera experience of Bagui Opera dynamically exhibits the historical inheritance, artistic features and cultural space of the three representative national intangible cultural heritage projects of Gui Opera, Caidiao Opera and Guangxi Wenchang Opera. The Xishan Elegant Collection provides aesthetic experiences of life based on the cultural background of Xishan Mountain, reflecting the harmony and integration between life and nature on an elegant scroll composed of incense, tea, flowers and music.
In recent years, as an important platform for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, cultural exchange and transmission, the experience museum has received visitors and tourists from both China and abroad, including but not limited to foreign students in Guangxi, guest visitors from other provincial institutes for intangible heritage protection, officials and honored guests from relevant state departments and international forums.
