From January to May 2023, the overall customs clearance time for imports in Guangxi was 10.56 hours, a whopping 81.34 percent reduction compared with 2017.

Customs clearance works are always busy in Guangxi, which shares borders with four Chinese provinces and with Vietnam.

The region also reported that its overall customs clearance time for exports during the period was 0.19 hours, 98.65 percent lower than 2017.

In recent years, Guangxi has actively promoted the construction of smart ports and continuously improved the level of customs clearance facilitation.

Since Jan 8, the Youyiguan Border Gate has been implementing practical measures to ease the burden on enterprises. The measures include expanding the vehicle inspection area, optimizing the vehicle verification process, streamlining vehicle flows, coordinating the use of emergency lanes, and providing delayed clearance services.

What's more, the Puzhai-Xinqing International Freight Channel will construct a new unmanned cargo transportation channel. By using an unmanned driving transportation mode and advanced equipment, it aims to simplify customs procedures through superior monitoring and implementation.

"Previously, it took us more than a month to import raw materials from Vietnam. Now, we only need one week to complete the procurement and processing," said Chen Zeng, the production manager of Guangxi Pingxiang Sunity Healthy Food.
