Recently, Qinzhou Bonded Port Area began using its intelligent visual supervision system, which has improved its supervision efficiency.

In 2022, the Qinzhou Port area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) completed 8,845 sea-rail intermodal trains that are now used along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The arrival and shipment of 442,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) containers has increased 45 percent year on year. Cargo throughput at the port is also expected to reach 175 million tons, up 5 percent year on year, while container throughput is expected to reach 5.35 million TEUs, which is an increase of 15.6 percent year on year.

Once the intelligent visual control system was put into operation, the border inspection station is now able to rapidly position personnel and vehicles within the fenced boundary, freight channels and restricted areas of the port.

The system also acts as an intelligent early warning system that can detect violations, such as people jumping the fences, damaging of the fences, or administrative vehicles passing through the freight channel. If someone crosses the border, the system will automatically send an alarm signal to the staff workers, the monitoring room and the command center, which allows staff workers to deal with the problems quickly.

Thanks to the system, the border inspection station now uses AI technology to actively and intelligently identify and distinguish people and objects. Video monitoring points have been set up every 80 meters along the fence in the restricted area, and the alarm processing speed has increased by more than one third when compared with the previous working model.
