On Jan 11, the China (Guangx) Pilot Free Trade zone (FTZ) held a work meeting in the Chongzuo area of the Guangxi FTZ to review its 2022 achievements and announce its plans for 2023.

The administrative committees of the Qinzhou Port, Nanning and Chongzuo areas of the Guxngxi FTZ reported their 2022 work summaries as well as their work plans for 2023.

The Guangxi FTZ will speed up the reform and opening-up of the Guangxi FTZ. Each area will make implementation plans and annual work plans focusing on realizing the reform of the Guangxi FTZ.

The Guangxi FTZ will push forward reform and innovation in key areas. For example, the Nanning area of the Guangxi FTZ will focus on modern finance, digital trade and service trade. The Qinzhou Port area will focus on the Hong Kong-bank logistics model and the opening up of maritime and railway combined transport. The Chongzuo area will focus on border reopening and customs clearance facilitation.

All areas in the Guangxi FTZ will speed up the establishment of collaborative development zones to expand the scope of institutional innovation. Guangxi will further stimulate innovation by increasing rewards and incentives for institutional innovation and replication.

The Nanning area of the Guangxi FTZ will build a distinctive producer service highland, focusing on the development of cross-border finance, trade, scientific and technological innovation and other industries. It will also help to develop cross-border industrial chains.

The Qinzhou Port area of the Guangxi FTZ will build cross-border industrial chains for green chemicals, electronic information, as well as specialty products and automobiles for ASEAN countries. It will speed up the construction of a new gateway port for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and enhance its port and shipping logistics service capacity.

The Chongzuo area of the Guangxi FTZ will promote the high-quality development of cross-border trade, logistics, finance, tourism, and labor services.
