Youyiguan Port reopened to international travelers in the Chongzuo area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), as the country downgraded its management of COVID-19.

China now manages COVID-19 with measures against Class B infectious diseases, instead of Class A infectious diseases, which a major shift of its epidemic response policy. The COVID management downgrade is expected to facilitate the smooth and orderly cross-border travel for Chinese and foreign nationals.

On Jan 8, a Vietnamese driver drove a truck into China with a load of Vietnamese fruit. He stated that the adjustment of China's customs clearance policy makes it easier for him to travel between China and Vietnam, so he can earn more money.

Ji Yongzhou, a worker at the Guangxi Pingxiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, said that fruit has high requirements for transportation, warehousing and customs clearance. After the customs clearance policy adjustment at Youyiguan Port, truck drivers can drive their own vehicles through, which speed up the customs clearance process and will attract enterprises to grab orders for the Spring Festival goods market.

On Jan 8, the Youyiguan scenic spot also reopened, attracting over 2,800 tourists and allowing over 1,000 trucks to drive through.
