Qinzhou Railway Container Station handling volume exceeds 400,000
The annual container handling volume of Qinzhou Railway Container Center Station exceeded 400,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers on Dec 23.
Since beginning operations in January 2020, the station's container handling volume has achieved rapid and stable growth, exceeding 200,000 TEU containers in the first year of operation. This set a record for the highest handling volume within the first year of operation of a national railway container center station.
In 2021, volume exceeded 300,000 TEU containers, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent. In 2022, it exceeded 400,000 TEU containers, which was an increase of 29 percent. Its annual handling volume ranking among the other 13 central stations of the national railway went from sixth last year to fifth.
At present, the station has intelligent equipment, a scheduling and management system, and automatic operation.
The station's role in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the west is more prominent. It will continue to contribute to enhancing economic exchanges between western China and foreign countries as well as stabilizing the industrial chain and supply chain of global enterprises.
