Mumbai - Qinzhou - Lanzhou China iron, sea transport train opens

On Dec 11, a total of 10 boxes of 265 metric tons of Indian raw sugar left the railroad container center station in Qinzhou, Guangxi on the iron-sea intermodal train and about five days later arrived in Lanzhou, Gansu. This was the first "India Mumbai - China Qinzhou - China Lanzhou" iron-sea intermodal train.

As of Dec 10, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor iron and sea intermodal transport trains had sent a total of 713,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods this year, an increase of 19.8 percent, far exceeding last year's annual total transport volume of 630,000 TEU.

Since this year, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has opened a number of new logistics lines between Chongqing, Guizhou, Ningxia, and Gansu and Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and other countries, achieving full coverage in the western region and expanding to Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Hebei, Jiangxi and other central provinces. The channel logistics network has covered 338 ports in 113 countries and regions.

From January to October this year, the import and export value along the new western land and sea channel through the port of Qinzhou port reached 89.65 billion yuan ($12.88 billion), an increase of 99.3 percent, a record high. The main imported goods are grain, fruit, and minerals; while the main exported goods are mechanical and electrical products.
