A total of 4,194 live Chilean cattle recently arrived at Qinzhou Port in Beibu Gulf Port after 31 days and 8,900 nautical miles of travel aboard a Singaporean ship. This batch of live cattle was imported by Qinzhou Aohua Import and Export Trading as the agent and had a value worth hundreds of millions of yuan. It mainly consisted of Holstein, Seaforth, Angus, and Montbeliar breeds. After the unloading is completed, these cattle will be transported to the quarantine farm in Qinzhou for a period of 45 days. After completing isolation and quarantine, they will be sold to Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and other pastures, where they will be genetically improved, bred, and milked for domestic breeding stock.

In recent years, the domestic dairy and beef cattle industry has grown, with demand continuing to increase. As a result, the import volume of live cattle has also increased and Qinzhou Port is responding to the market demand. It relies on the resources of inbound live animal quarantine farms and the advantages of its port qualification, while utilizing its experiences in live cattle imports to develop its live cattle transportation business.

This is already the 10th voyage that Qinzhou Port has been involved in since its first batch of live cattle imports arrived there in December 2019, with 52,869 imported live cattle transported for mainland China.
