The National Development and Reform Commission recently included 25 national logistics hubs in the 2022 national logistics hub construction list, of which the national logistics hub of Pingxiang Port was selected.

The 25 selected national logistics hubs have three characteristics, including enhanced hub synergy, prominent multimodal transport functions, and strong industrial linkages.

Pingxiang is the county-level port city with the largest number, most complete types, and largest scale of ports in Guangxi. It boasts two national first-class ports, Youyiguan Port and Pingxiang Railway Port, one second-class port, as well as four exchange points at Pingerguan Waterway Port. Great importance has been attached to the strategic position of Pingxiang, with eight national strategic platforms laid out here, such as Guangxi Pingxiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the Chongzuo area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and China (Chongzuo) Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Cross-border E-commerce.

Since this year, Pingxiang has seized the opportunity of the RCEP taking effect. The China ASEAN Free Trade Area version 3.0 is about to start construction here and the city took the lead to run the first RCEP's ASEAN fruit train in Guangxi. After Vietnam passion fruit and durian were allowed to be exported to China, the first Vietnamese durian exported to China was cleared at Youyiguan Port.
