Since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) took effect at the beginning of the year, Qinzhou's imports and exports to RCEP member countries in the first half of the year totaled 6 billion yuan ($875 million), an increase of 29.4 percent, while its imports and exports value to ASEAN was 4.88 billion yuan, an increase of 48 percent.

Among them, the city's imports and exports to Indonesia was 1.9 billion yuan, an increase of 46.2 percent, while its imports and exports value to Vietnam was 1.79 billion yuan, an increase of 107.3 percent.

Since the RCEP Enterprise Service Center of the Qinzhou Port Area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was established on June 30, it has sorted out the changes in the tax rates of major import and export goods after the RCEP came into effect, as well as formed a list of RCEP zero-tariff advantageous commodities exported from Qinzhou, benefiting enterprises in the area.

To date, the center has received about 50 consultations from RCEP enterprises, organized two RCEP special training sessions, trained more than 80 related enterprises, as well as instructed many enterprises in the area on how to make good use of RCEP rules to enjoy preferential tariffs, develop international markets, and expand their foreign trade volume.

The center will continue to improve various systems, as well as actively provide on-site services, corporate salons, and other activities to accurately meet the needs and further provide high-quality RCEP services to enterprises.
