Nanning hosts China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit forum

On Aug 16, the RCEP and ASEAN International Arbitration Summit entitled "Sharing Opportunities, Creating Prosperity-Innovation and Development of International Arbitration in the light of RCEP" was held in Nanning.

This forum was the first forum of the 19th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. It was hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Supreme People's Court, the Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Working Office, and the Nanning municipal people's government.

Government officials, representatives of business, as well as experts and scholars from legal professional institutions and research institutions from RCEP and ASEAN member countries attended the meeting.

The forum focused on the pressing issues of international arbitration, allowing participants to conduct exchanges, as well as to discuss the international arbitration experiences and results to promote the high-quality implementation of the RCEP. The forum also aimed to deepen economic and trade relations between China and ASEAN, as well as other RCEP member states, facilitating regional connectivity and economic integration.

The Unveiling Ceremony for the Nameplate of the ASEAN Trial Center of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) was also held during the forum, marking the inauguration of the center in Nanning.

Established by CIETAC, the ASEAN Trial Center is an ASEAN-oriented institution that provides arbitration services. It will help Guangxi build a regional arbitration hub for RCEP member states, especially ASEAN countries, aiming to create a rule-based and internationalized business environment.
