Import, export value of Qinzhou port reaches 50b yuan

In the first half of this year, the combined total import and export value of the provinces and cities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor that operate through Qinzhou port was 50.48 billion yuan ($7.46 billion), a year-on-year increase of 103.4 percent.

Among them, export goods amounted to 18.46 billion yuan, an increase of 60 percent year-on-year, with daily mechanical and electrical products, paper products, and agricultural products making up the majority. Imports reached 32.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 141.2 percent, which included crude oil, metal ores and mineral sands, and grain.

With the convenient customs clearance procedures of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, export products can reach Qinzhou Port in one day and Indonesia in five days, reducing time and logistics costs.

According to statistics, in the first half of the year, the value of imports and exports to countries along the Belt and Road route through Qinzhou Port was 56.27 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 62 percent.

Qinzhou Port has opened three new routes this year, increasing the total number to more than 60, and connects to more than 400 ports in more than 130 countries and regions around the world.

Since the beginning of this year, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries operating through Qinzhou port have enjoyed 630 million yuan in tax relief from the original bilateral free trade agreement and the RCEP certificate of origin that has already taken effect, and the trade volume has reached 19.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.4 percent.
