Beibu Gulf Port handles 4,132 sea-rail intermodal trains in H1

In the first half of the year, 4,132 sea-rail intermodal trains operated in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a year-on-year increase of 42 percent.

This year, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has opened seven new container routes. At present, the number of container routes at Beibu Gulf Port has reached 71, and the routes connect with more than 200 ports in more than 100 countries and regions. As of the end of June, Beibu Gulf Port had completed a container throughput of 3.17 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), a year-on-year increase of 21.4 percent; and the completed cargo throughput amounted to 180 million metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.87 percent.

In the first half of the year, 30.5 billion yuan ($4.52 billion) was invested in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor's major projects, accounting for 51 percent of its annual investment target. Among them, the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway received an investment of 4.09 billion yuan, achieving 47.5 percent of its annual investment plan.

In the first half of the year, 1,332 cross-border trains between China and Vietnam were launched, a year-on-year increase of 50.34 percent. Among them, 173 cross-border container trains between Nanning and Hanoi have become operational, a year-on-year increase of 19.3 percent.

From January to May, the overall customs clearance time for imports and exports at Guangxi ports was 15.76 hours and 0.37 hours, respectively.
