A container vessel loaded with 4,950 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) berthed at the Qinzhou automated container terminal, marking the opening of the first direct container shipping line between the city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and western North America.

The new line will shorten the travel time from the Beibu Gulf in Guangxi to western North America to only about 20 days. Beibu Gulf Port, a trade and logistics passage connecting 14 provincial-level regions in China, has routes to 316 ports in 107 countries and regions around the world. The new route will also play an important role in the construction of the Qinzhou Port Area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

In order to ensure the smooth berthing of the ship, the Qinzhou maritime safety administration used the smart supervision platform to track and monitor the ship's entry into the port, as well as dispatched sea patrol boats to carry out on-site water security and road clearance escort.

The Qinzhou maritime safety administration also provides one-to-one services for container ships entering and leaving the port in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, remotely tracking and monitoring in real time the entire process of ship entry and berthing to ensure efficient, fast, and safe entry and exit of ships.

The new route will further facilitate trade services between southwestern China and North America. Ships will mainly call at the ports of Qinzhou, Hong Kong, and Vancouver.
