The 12th Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation and 2022 Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port Cooperation Forum commenced on July 8 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, during which the management committee of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (CMQIP) signed a cooperation agreement with Geely Technology Group.

Four cooperation projects in port logistics and industrial chains were signed, including the cooperation agreement to develop the CMQIP signed by the management committee of CMQIP and Geely Technology Group, the memorandum of cooperation signed by Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group and Singapore International Port Group (PSA), as well as the strategic cooperation contract inked by Guangxi Modern Logistics Group and SF Express.

With the in-depth development of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), China-Malaysia cooperation and development are facing new opportunities. After 10 years of development and construction, the China-Malaysia Twin Parks, which refers to CMQIP and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), have been integrated into the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to promote economic and trade cooperation with Malaysia and ASEAN. It is expected that the forum will further promote cooperation between China and ASEAN in building the Belt and Road, as well as inject new vitality into the joint construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port.
