Since Nanning International Railway Port was put under the supervision of customs one year ago, 375 cross-border trains with a freight volume of 11,806 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) have operated out of the port, 2.41-fold and 2.92-fold increases year-on-year respectively.

Nanning International Railway Port, an important hub of the Belt and Road Initiative and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, is the cornerstone of Guangxi's efforts to become a national logistics hub. On May 30, 2021, the port's customs supervision workplace closed loop of operation. After a year of operation,  its freight volume has soared and cross-border logistics have accelerated.

The number of import and export containers under the supervision of Yongzhou Customs increased from 36 TEUs in the first month of the closing loop of operation to about 500 TEUs per month, a 14-fold increase. The running time of the China-Vietnam train has been cut by more than 60 percent.

According to customs statistics, from June 2021 to April 2022, 1.23 billion yuan ($183 million) of imported and exported goods were declared at Nanning International Railway Port, including 590 types of goods.
