1st phase of grain storage and logistics project set up in Qinzhou

On June 6, the first phase of the Qinzhou Port grain storage and logistics project of Beibu Gulf Port Group transferred the land use rights of 178.5 mu (12 hectares) to the Qinzhou branch of Sino Grain.

The project is funded and constructed by the Qinzhou branch of Sino Grain, and will occupy a total area of about 238.7 mu and receive a total investment of about 1.1 billion yuan ($163.4 million). Sixty-five round warehouses with a storage capacity of 520,000 metric tons will be built, along with four flat warehouses with a storage capacity of 35,300 tons. The total warehouse capacity is expected to reach 555,300 tons.

The project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase of the project is scheduled to start construction at the end of June 2022 and is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023. The second phase is scheduled to start in June 2023. The project is expected to increase the annual transshipment throughput of Qinzhou Port by 1.5 million tons per year.
