According to China National Railway Group, 310,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) were sent by rail-sea combined container trains through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor from January to May, an increase of 85,000 TEUs and a year-on-year increase of 37.7 percent.

Since the beginning of this year, multiple rail-sea combined transportation routes have opened that pass through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-Qinzhou-Lanzhou, Southeast Asia-Qinzhou-Xi'an, and Russia-Chongqing-Guangxi routes, in which Indian raw sugar, imported cars from the Middle East, as well as other special commodities are carried, driving the economic development of Western China.

At present, more than 600 types of goods are shipped by sea-rail intermodal trains that pass through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The sources of goods cover 102 stations in 16 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, which are then transported to 316 ports in 107 countries and regions.

China National Railway Group Limited said that it will continue to make good use of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and relevant national policies, speed up the construction of infrastructure and the new land-sea passage in the west, as well as improve the quality of sea-rail intermodal trains.
