Two China-Vietnam trains, which implemented the railway express mode of customs clearance, recently completed trips. The railway express mode of customs clearance means that qualified enterprises do not have to undergo customs clearance formalities, which will reduce costs for them and improve customs clearance time for the trains.

On May 29, the China-Vietnam train traveling from Pingxiang railway port arrived in Chongqing. With the smooth operation of the outbound train, it marked that the China-Vietnam train's railway express mode of customs clearance had successfully achieved cross-regional two-way connection. The train was loaded with cargos consisting of engine kits, steering columns, and gasoline engines.

On June 3, a China-Vietnam international train arrived at the Pingxiang railway port from Chongqing and headed to Hanoi, Vietnam after going through relevant exit procedures. This train is the first China-Vietnam international train in the country to use the railway express mode of customs clearance for cross-regional exports.

Under the railway express mode of customs clearance, customs officials can review, release, and write off electronic data containing information related to the cargo it is carrying from qualified enterprises through the railway manifest system. Compared with the previous customs clearance mode, this can reduce about 24 hours of customs clearance time, and reduce costs on a single cargo container by more than 200 yuan ($30).

"This train has completed the customs declaration and inspection procedures at Chongqing Customs in advance. After arriving at the port, Pingxiang Customs staff can go through the customs clearance process quickly by going through the train's manifest," said Luo Shuyu, an administrative law enforcement officer of Pingxiang Customs.
