The taxation bureau of the Qinzhou Port area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone recently launched online cross-border real estate registration services to help overseas residents handle related affairs and overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online cross-border tax payment and certificate application services for overseas residents can effectively reduce the impact of exchange rate fluctuations, while also saving time and expenses for them by not requiring them to travel to and from the mainland for tax processing purposes. At present, this service is available for overseas residents who purchase real estate in the Qinzhou Port area.

Relying on the electronic platform of the Guangxi Taxation Bureau and Treasury Information Process System (TIPS), Qinzhou has built an online service hall. Cross-border residents can handle real estate business without entering the country, effectively reducing the tax payment and certification burden.

Cross-border residents can communicate and consult with online staff through video, handle real estate business, as well as enjoy one-on-one and personalized counseling services.

Under the real-time video guidance of the online service hall staff, the overseas home buyer can handle real estate business by transmitting their identity certificates and commercial housing sales contract numbers. The business can be processed without having to provide paper certification materials on site. Tax receipts can be issued immediately, while certificates can be mailed to the overseas home buyer.
