On Feb 28, a batch of clothing, shoes, hats, household items, and other goods were transported from Nanning Comprehensive Bonded Zone to Nanning International Railway Port and left the country from Pingxiang Port via the Nanning-Hanoi cross-border train.

This was the first cross-border e-commerce commodity to be transported out of the country by railway transportation after the Nanning International Railway Port was officially put into operation.

"Railway transportation offers large capacity and stable timeliness. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the transportation of cross-border e-commerce goods by railway can save three to four days compared with traditional road transportation," said Feng Ge, director of Guangxi Post's International Business Department.

In recent years, Nanning Customs has actively supported e-commerce companies to unblock logistics channels and to create a comprehensive logistics system for cross-border e-commerce exports that integrates air, land, as well as sea transportation.

In terms of air transportation, Nanning Customs has cut cargo shipping time by simplifying customs clearance procedures, as well as optimizing loading and unloading modes at terminals. It has also promoted the opening of eight cross-border e-commerce air transport routes in Bangkok, Thailand, Manila, the Philippines, as well as Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In terms of road transportation, Nanning Customs has helped enterprises to add and expand three new cross-border e-commerce land routes to Vietnam.

In terms of sea transportation, Nanning Customs relies on Beibu Gulf ports to support cross-border e-commerce export business and promote the use of the new China-ASEAN sea-land combined transportation channel.

"Nanning will follow the RCEP policies, improve its customs clearance services, support the normal operation of the cross-border e-commerce land-rail combined transportation mode of Nanning Railway Port, and help cross-border e-commerce enterprises expand the ASEAN market," said Liang Chaojun, head of the Yongzhou customs supervision section under Nanning customs.
