In 2021, the number of newly-established enterprises in the Nanning area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) exceeded 20,000, surging up 200 percent. Many industries such as modern finance and digital economy are developing rapidly with the growth rate of digital economy industries reaching 54 percent.

Nanning is China's closest provincial capital to ASEAN and an important city in the Belt and Road initiative. The Nanning area was established in August 2019 with 46.8 square kilometers and it is one of the three main areas in Guangxi FTZ.

The Nanning area of Guangxi FTZ lays eyes on the ASEAN market to build a high-quality free trade zone to support China-ASEAN opening cooperation.

There were 123 new financial enterprises established in the China-ASEAN Financial City among the total of 285. The Nanning area of Guangxi FTZ will build a regional international science and technology innovation center facing ASEAN, gathering more than 3,300 digital economy enterprises.
