In order to seize the new opportunities of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), make good use of the new RCEP policies, further expand Guangxi's foreign economic and trade cooperation, and help form a new pattern of comprehensive opening up, Guangxi held a series of activities surrounding the launch of the RCEP in Nanning on Dec 30.

The RCEP will take effect on Jan 1, 2022, which marked the start of the construction of a free trade zone with the largest population, the most diverse membership structure, and the greatest potential for development in the world.

The opening ceremony of the enterprise service center of the RCEP was held. Based on the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), this center connects the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta, providing services such as economic and trade cooperation, overseas investment, and corporate training to RCEP member countries.

Guangxi held a press conference to welcome the effective implementation of the RCEP. It was hosted by the Commerce Department of Guangxi Autonomous Region, and jointly organized by Nanning Customs, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangxi committee, Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau, and the Administrative Committee of Nanning Area of Guangxi FTZ.

Many measures were announced at the conference, such as letting customs help Guangxi to catch the opportunity of RCEP, using RCEP rules to serve enterprises, and giving full play to the advantages of Guangxi FTZ to implement RCEP work.

The RCEP (ASEAN) forum joined by ambassadors and commercial representatives in China was held by the Commerce Department of Guangxi Autonomous Region. At the forum, the situation of Guangxi's economic and trade cooperation, the construction of version 3.0 of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and the effective implementation of RCEP were declared.
