By Dec 27, the Guangxi branch of PetroChina has processed 100 million metric tons of crude oil, 94 million tons of gasoline, coal, and diesel products, with a total industrial output value of 480 billion yuan ($75.37 billion) and taxes of 90 billion yuan.

PetroChina followed the strategy to develop China's western regions and invested in a 10-million-ton refinery project of the Guangxi branch of PetroChina in Qinzhou city, Guangxi in May 2005.

The Guangxi branch of PetroChina has been processing safely for 11 consecutive years without any accidents. It has invested 2 billion yuan to build environmental protection equipment, which has saved 450,000 tons of standard coal and 9.77 million tons of water.

It processes 58 kinds of crude oil from 27 countries in the world, with a product qualification rate of 100 percent. It has won two national science and technology progress awards, achieving independent and controllable key core technologies.
