Qinzhou Port throughput reaches 150 million tons

By the end of November 2021, the cargo throughput of Qinzhou Port reached 150 million metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.9 percent; the container volume of 4.14 million Twenty-feet Equivalent Units (TEU), a year-on-year increase of 17.1 percent. This is compared to the 2018 throughput which was 100 million tons.

In recent years, Qinzhou Port area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has taken full advantage of its regional, port, and platform to actively integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, building a new pattern of all-round opening up.

From January to November 2021, 5,581 trains of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor have passed, a year-on-year increase of 35 percent. Since the beginning of this year, Qinzhou Port has launched three new international sea-rail combined freight trains. The Qinzhou sea-rail combined train line has covers 43 cities and 84 stations. In 2021, it opened seven new domestic and foreign trade routes, and currently, there are 57 container routes.

Qinzhou Port has berthed 300,000-ton oil tankers and 200,000-ton container ships to navigation. The import customs clearance time at Qinzhou Port has been shortened by 29.1 percent compared with last year, and the export customs clearance time has been shortened by 23.3 percent. The port and container throughput increased to be the top 20 and top 15 coastal ports in China. It ranked 47th among the top 50 global container ports for the first time.
