First foreign vessel berths at 300,000-tonne crude oil wharf of Qinzhou Port
The Sea Pearl tanker carrying 137,300 metric tons of crude oil docked at the 300,000-tonne crude oil wharf of Qinzhou Port on Dec 21. It was the first foreign vessel to berth at the wharf.
The Sea Pearl is a Greek crude oil tanker that is 333 meters long, 60 m wide, and 29.4 m deep. Its arrival indicates that the 300,000-tonne crude oil wharf at Qinzhou Port has adapted to the berthing and unloading needs of oil tankers around the world.
With the help of six tugboats and guides, the Sea Pearl tanker berthed at the port side of the arrival basin. Based on the previous two berthing experiences, the berthing and mooring took two hours and 12 minutes.
Within two months of the first trial berthing, two 300,000-ton oil tankers berthed at Qinzhou Port, reflecting the maturity and excellence of the equipment and technology at the 300,000-tonne crude oil wharf at Qinzhou Port.
