The Taiwan medium and small-sized enterprises cluster area project is located to the north of the Liuqin Highway in the Qinzhou Port Area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The project has a total investment of 590 million yuan ($90.96 million) and covers an area of 136 mu (9.07 hectares).

It boasts a floor area of 184,293.16 square meters, including a factory area of 170,429.5 sq m (Taiwan-Chinese Mainland comprehensive zone and featured agricultural products advantage zone included) and an office and life service area of 12,663.66 sq m. The project’s building area totals 31,733.02 sq m.

The project will be built in two phases. Phase I includes six standard factories with a floor area of 40,200 sq m in plot A, and a building of office and life services with a floor area of 6,331.83 sq m in plot C. Phase II includes seven standard factories with a floor area of 49,829.5 sq m in plot A, nine standard factories with a floor area of 60,300 sq m in plot B, and three standard factories with a floor area of 20,100 sq m, as well as a building for offices and life services with a floor area of 6,331.83 sq m in plot C. The construction involves civil engineering, water supply and drainage, electrical engineering, decoration, landscape engineering and other ancillary works.

The project is currently under construction, with the first batch of factories having been finished and put into use by the end of 2020.

The project aims to promote the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations. It is conducive to saving resources, pushing forward urbanization and easing pressure on regional employment. The project acts as a supporting point for the development of the industrial cluster area in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park. It will also be beneficial for the building of a zone to produce featured agricultural products from Taiwan and the Chinese mainland, giving a hand in poverty alleviation.
