General introduction and development orientation:

The ASEAN-China Network Audio-Visual Industrial Base is located in Wuxiang New District in the Nanning Area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone. With a planning area of 61,474 square meters, the project is expected to draw an investment totaling 2.29 billion yuan ($350 million).

Based on its geographical advantage in connecting China with ASEAN countries, the project aims at building a national network audio-visual industrial base oriented toward ASEAN countries.

It will give full play to the strengths of the Guangxi Radio & TV Network Corporation and expand businesses in cultural innovation, program production, exchanges, communication, translation studies, sales, education, technology, exhibitions and conventions.

It will also focus on building an eco-chain for the network audio-visual industry, promoting the growth of emerging industrial formats, incubating and supporting a batch of innovation-driven network audio-visual enterprises, as well as creating an open, cooperative and shared network audio-visual industrial platform. The base will act as an information hub, a core platform, and a major channel that all target ASEAN countries.

Latest progress:

1.Phase I of the project has been completed and put in use. It is expected to meet the innovation and entrepreneurship requirements of settled enterprises.

2.JI Hotel, a four-star hotel owned by China’s hotel chain Huazhu Group, has been introduced and officially started operation in September 2020, providing services for the base and a space in which to hold exhibitions and conventions.

3.With its geographical advantage and favorable policies in the Nanning Area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the project aims to attract top domestic firms in the sectors of radio, television and network audio-visual to settle in the base. It has signed strategic cooperation agreements with iFlytek, Sichuan Jiuzhou Electric Group, Wasu Media and Shenzhen AVIT.
