Lipu, Guilin, secured three major projects totaling 1.4 billion yuan ($194 million) at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), covering the deep processing of agricultural products, applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and electronic information manufacturing.

Agreements for two projects were signed at the special "AI + Empowers Thousands of Industries" event. One is the "AI + Lipu Taro" whole-industry-chain project with an investment of 600 million yuan.
It will build a 266.67-hectare smart agricultural base, two fruit and vegetable deep processing lines, and supporting facilities like 15,000 cubic meters of cold storage and sewage treatment systems.
The other is the Lipu AI Server and Substrate-like Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Production Project, which has also received 600 million yuan in investment.
It will lease 30,000 square meters of workshops, build high-end production lines, and introduce high-precision equipment such as laser drilling machines. Once fully operational, it is expected to produce 1 million square meters of AI server PCB and substrate-like products yearly.
During CAEXPO's international cooperation session, an agreement for a Lipu taro comprehensive intelligent production project was signed, with 196 million yuan in investment.
It will be implemented in two phases, and the first phase will build smart processing workshops and automated logistics centers in a local taro industry park to streamline taro processing and distribution.
Lipu has long followed an "industry-strong city" strategy and currently hosts over 650 industrial enterprises, 78 of which are above-scale. The city will advance cross-regional collaboration to ensure these new projects take root, fueling high-quality economic growth in Guilin.
