At Guilin Lanyu Aviation Tire Company, the nation's first large-scale civil aviation tire production line, is running at full capacity. As the nation's first digital civil aviation tire factory, it produces 100,000 high-performance tires annually, meeting 40 percent of domestic demand.
This scene reflects Guilin's broader success in nurturing technology-driven enterprises. In recent years, Guilin has focused on innovation as a key engine of growth, offering policy support, talent programs, and streamlined services to help small firms scale into industry leaders.
The support package includes substantial research and development funding, Lanyu alone received over 36 million yuan ($4.98 million) as tailored tax incentives and "one policy per enterprise" service sets. Efficient policy delivery and a favorable business environment have significantly reduced burdens on tech startups.
Talent attraction has also accelerated, transforming Guilin into a magnet for high-level professionals. Local companies benefit from housing subsidies, tax rebates, and public service support. Initiatives like "PhDs for firms" have brought technical expertise directly into production lines.
The results are tangible. Guilin firms have broken foreign monopolies in aviation components and high-end manufacturing. In 2024, the city's high-tech manufacturing output rose 10.2 percent, outpacing the national average.
With plans to expand funding access, streamline R&D benefits, and build innovation ecosystems, Guilin is positioning its tech sector as the backbone of future industrial transformation.
