The Guilin Art Museum, formerly known as the Guilin Exhibition Hall (Guilin Huqiao Art Museum), was established in 1964 and has since become a cultural landmark in Guilin.

Designed by a team of architects led by Liang Sicheng, a prominent Chinese architect, and also including Wang Zhili and Chen Chushi, the museum features a unique blend of architectural styles, combining elements of northern Guangxi residential buildings, Suzhou gardens, and Anhui-style architecture. Its courtyard design employs traditional garden architecture that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The museum covers an area of 5,000 square meters, with a two-story main building that boasts a total floor area of 3,200 sq m. Inside are seven exhibition halls with a total exhibition space of 1,200 sq m and a 400-meter exhibition line.

The museum has over 2,000 items in its collection, including paintings, ceramics, sculptures, handicrafts, folk art and more.

As a key cultural institution, the Guilin Art Museum continues to preserve and promote both traditional and modern art, making it an essential part of the city's rich cultural heritage.
