The campus of Hechi University in Hechi city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is alive with the dynamic colors of spring. The university's bamboo rafting team glides across the shimmering lake, creating a picturesque scene as athletes bamboo on slender bamboo poles, paddles in hand, complementing the blossoming surroundings.

On the afternoon of April 9, the bamboo rafting training session was in full swing. The athletes stood on the bamboo, maneuvering their paddles through the water. Their movements were agile and fluid, sometimes pausing to blend with the riverside flowers, while at other times paddling swiftly to send ripples across the lake. Their turns and strokes portrayed the classic image of "crossing the river on a single reed", exemplifying the harmonious blend of strength and grace inherent in bamboo rafting.

Coach Huang Shiji said that despite its effortless appearance, bamboo rafting demands significant concentration and skill. The team adheres to a rigorous training regimen designed to build their willpower and enhance their skills, all aimed at achieving outstanding results in various competitions.

As a traditional sport rich in cultural heritage, bamboo rafting has become a distinctive symbol of Hechi University. The university is committed to promoting education in ethnic traditional sports and developing a strong bamboo rafting team. The team has achieved remarkable success in national and regional competitions, nurturing numerous talented athletes and ensuring the continued vitality of this cherished sport on campus.
