Bama unveils longevity secrets at China intl travel event

Bama Yao autonomous county, a recipient of targeted support from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, joined the 2025 China International Travel Mart in Haikou, Hainan province.

Hosted by the ministry from Dec 19 to 21, the "Hello! China" themed event brought together over 1,000 travel agents and industry representatives from 101 countries and regions, which included multiple in-person business-to-business matchmaking sessions.

Bama's delegation, comprising local cultural and tourism firms, focused on three pillars: longevity culture, cultural-tourism integration and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) crafts. It also presented its scenic landscapes, ethnic traditions, and premium goods like natural mineral water.

The county's booth stood out thanks to its unique regional charm. ICH handcrafts gained popularity for their cultural depth, while specialty products drew detailed questions from buyers.

At the Dec 20 professional session, Bama highlighted its strengths in wellness tourism and folk experiences. Some 85 domestic and foreign buyers reached preliminary cooperation agreements.

Backed by the ministry, Bama has expanded its global reach to the Netherlands, India, London, and beyond. This wide-reaching participation helps to boost its international visibility, inviting global travelers to explore its natural beauty and wellness lifestyle.
